I doubt a major change like this would happen, but should USBC consider banning urethane?
No sport has evolved more than bowling in the last 10 years, so is it time for the game to change? More companies are utilizing urethane technology which impacts lane patterns more than traditional resin balls, now even putting asymmetrical cores in them. So much has changed, so should the rules change too?
This decision would be one of the most controversial things the governing body could do, but because of how much of an impact this lesser technology has had on recreational and sport bowling, maybe it’s worth considering.
In this video we’ll discuss the three reasons why I think USBC should consider banning urethane bowling balls, and the three reasons why I think it’s a bad idea.
